Growth Mindset

Growth Mindset I had never heard of Carol Dweck or the growth mindset before. I gained knowledge about this topic through several videos;  Carol Dweck TED Talk, “The Power of Believing That You Can Improve”, “Make Challenge the New Comfort Zone” and  “How to Help Every Child Fulfil Their Potential”. After watching the videos I definitely think I have room to improve when it comes to having a growth mindset. I've learnt that i need to get a bit more out of my comfort zone and push myself further. During sports I have a better mindset because I'm always trying to improve. I want to apply the mindset I have in sports to more things in my daily life. Introduction

Introduction to Me My name is Lauren Murphy and I am 20 years old. I live in Castleknock and have 4 people in my family including myself.  My favourite class last semester was Design Process and Practice. I have a big interest in graphic design and I really enjoyed learning about the principles and rules of design. My goals for this module are to improve my blog writing skills and successfully create a video game. Image 1: Boracay Beach During Summer I went on holiday to The Philippines. I travelled for 22 hours to Manila, where I stayed for 4 days. I then flew to Boracay and Cebu. Each place was amazing and different in their own way. I met a lot of people who were travelling alone around Asia. After listening to some people's experiences, I have decided I will definitely go back to Asia next summer. I also went to Hungary this Summer. Some of my friends were interrailing around Europe so I met them in Budapest for 4 days. I went to the famous Baths and also went on

Workshop 01

Traffic Lights Hello, this blog will be about our first workshop where we spoke about how traffic lights work. We discussed each-other's opinions on the topic in groups. I am fairly familiar with the topic "Traffic Lights" as I am often a passenger in my friend's or parent's cars. I've watched other people drive for years and I have picked up on the majority of the rules of the road, including how the traffic lights work. I am currently studying for my theory exam so I've already covered a lot of information around this topic. Traffic Lights      https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/f4/Traffic_Light_-_Realistic.jpg I thought discussing within the group was very beneficial  as everyone got to say their piece. Interacting with my fellow classmates is always interesting as I always learn something new from at least one person.   I was still slightly unsure about the right of way rule but learned more about it during the lab when we

My Favourite Video Game

My Favourite Video Game Hi, for my first blog I will be talking about my favourite video game. Crash Bandicoot has been one of my all time favourites since I was around 8 years old. I started playing it on the Playstation 1 when I was younger and have since played the games on the playstation 2, 3 and 4. Image 1: Crash Bandicoot Logo https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/db/Crash_bandicoot_logo_by_jerimiahisaiah.png Crash Bandicoot is a series of games that was created by Jason Rubin and Andy Gavin in 1994. The games are mostly set in a fictional place called Wumpa Islands. The main character is named Crash who is often fighting with the main antagonist, Doctor Neo Cortex. In cerrtain games, Crash must fight other characters and sometimes has worked alongside Doctor Neo Cortex. The games are mainly adventure games, while some are team car racing.                                                  Image 2: Doctor Neo Cortex https://www.flickr.com/photos/
